Experienced Local Wedding Planners
Cyprus has a wide network of planners experienced in destination weddings. Hiring a local planner ensures expert guidance with venue selection, legal requirements, supplier coordination, and on-the-day management — saving time, stress, and often money.
Talented Photographers & Videographers
Cyprus’ natural light and landscape — from sunset beaches to mountain villages — make it a photographer’s dream. Professionals speak fluent English and specialise in destination weddings, offering packages tailored to overseas couples.
Excellent Year-Round Weather
With around 330 days of sunshine per year, Cyprus is one of Europe’s most reliable sunny wedding destinations. Outdoor ceremonies are possible nearly year-round.
Ease of Legal Paperwork Requirements
Getting legally married in Cyprus is straightforward compared to many other destinations, provided your documents are in order. Most couples find it easy to arrange with help from a local wedding planner who handles document verification and submission.
Guest & Budget Friendly
From the UK, Cyprus is only a 4.5-hour flight, served by numerous budget airlines. Accommodation ranges from boutique villas to all-inclusive resorts, keeping guest costs manageable.
Wedding packages are competitively priced — often 30–50% less than comparable weddings in Italy, with high standards in service, food, and wine.
All-Inclusive Wedding Packages in Cyprus
Cyprus has earned its reputation as one of Europe’s most popular destinations for package weddings abroad — and with good reason. The island offers exceptional value compared to other Mediterranean locations, with affordable wedding packages available at beach resorts, town halls, and boutique hotels. Many venues and planners provide all-inclusive wedding packages, which can include the ceremony, flowers, photographer, cake, and even a coordinator, keeping planning simple and costs transparent. The combination of convenience, value for money, and guaranteed sunshine makes Cyprus a top choice for destination wedding packages in the Mediterranean.
Luxury Weddings in Cyprus
For couples dreaming of something truly special, luxury weddings in Cyprus offer unmatched elegance and exclusivity. The island is home to five-star beachfront resorts, private villas, and historic estates that provide a perfect blend of Mediterranean charm and modern sophistication. From designer décor and bespoke floral installations to gourmet dining and live entertainment, every element can be customised to reflect your personal style. High-end planners and venues across Paphos, Limassol, and Ayia Napa specialise in tailor-made luxury weddings in Cyprus, with prices typically starting from €30,000 and beyond. With its stunning backdrops, exceptional hospitality, and world-class services, Cyprus is the ideal setting for a once-in-a-lifetime celebration.
Real experience: Elli & Niall
“We always wanted to get married in Cyprus, a special place to us and our family, however we didn’t know where to begin with finding our venue, all we knew was that we wanted somewhere exclusive to us. We wanted a very relaxed and fun day surrounded by everyone we loved. Our wedding day vision was to have a rustic vibe with pops of colour from bougainvillea, with a traditional Cypriot feel mixed with English traditions. Without our wedding planner we most certainly wouldn’t have found our hidden little gem, set in the hills between Larnaca, Limassol and Nicosia, the rustic countryside family run venue was an ideal choice for our civil ceremony and alfresco reception. I was the first British bride to get married here. Our wedding planner made our countryside venue look absolutely stunning. To ensure our guests had a spectacular time, a traditional Cypriot feast was served for dinner, followed Greek dancers and a DJ. As a unique touch we included an ice cream cart, a cocktail bar and a souvlaki stand.”

Top Wedding Venue Locations in Cyprus
Here’s a breakdown of the most popular wedding locations in Cyprus and what makes them special, plus insights into which areas are more budget friendly.
Paphos & Larnaca Coastlines
Beautiful coastal towns with a wealth of licensed beachfront venues and seaside hotels. Perfect for couples who want a holiday atmosphere for guests, with nearby villas and excellent flight connections.
Limassol & South Coast
Stylish, lively and modern — Limassol offers luxury resorts, marinas, and modern beachfront venues, ideal for a more contemporary celebration.
Protaras & Ayia Napa
Known for clear turquoise waters, this area offers both lively nightlife and private wedding spots. Great for couples wanting a balance of fun and romance.
Inland & Countryside Settings
Escape the coast for vineyard weddings, mountain villages, and olive groves. More intimate, authentic and budget-friendly options are common here.
Northern Cyprus
While not officially under the Republic of Cyprus, North Cyprus offers lower-cost venues and quiet charm. Legal marriages here may not automatically be recognised internationally, so most couples opt for a symbolic ceremony after marrying legally elsewhere.
Legal Requirements for Getting Married in Cyprus
One of the key questions for any couple planning a wedding abroad is how legally valid the ceremony will be. Here’s a breakdown for Cyprus:
Residency & Notice Period
To legally marry in Cyprus as foreign visitors, you must submit your application in person at the municipality in which you will marry.
There are two main options:
- Standard Notice: The application is submitted and you wait the standard notice period (typically around 15 days) before the wedding date.
- Special Licence / Express Procedure: For couples arriving shortly before the ceremony, a shorter residency/notice is possible (sometimes 1-3 business days) with higher fees.
Civil Weddings
Civil ceremonies take place in the Town Hall or at authorised venues which have a licence (additional fee applicable).
Religious Weddings
Anglican ceremonies are legally binding. You will also need to contact the Registered Minister of the Church where you plan to get married to obtain the additional documentation to be completed and make the extra arrangements required a religious ceremony.
Note: A Catholic ceremony is not legally binding unless you first have a civil wedding ceremony.
Symbolic Ceremonies
Popular for couples who complete the legal part elsewhere; flexible locations and no legal paperwork required in Cyprus.
Required Documents
Generally you will need:
- Valid passports for both partners.
- Long form/full birth certificates.
- Certificate of No Impediment / Statutory Declaration that you are free to marry (especially for non-locals).
- If previously married: Divorce decree absolute or death certificate of former spouse.
- Translation and apostille/legalisation of documents if required by the issuing country.
Language
Ceremonies are usually conducted in English.
Nationality Specific Requirements
May vary, so couples should consult their embassy or a local wedding planner for details.
Same-Sex Marriage
Currently, same-sex marriage is not legal in Cyprus (though civil partnerships exist).

“Photographs: It’s hard to put into words what it felt like looking back on our photographs, it just makes you feel like you are back there on the day, the sun, the excitement, all the feelings that we felt on the day were there in those pictures and that’s why we love them so much. They are everything we could have dreamed of and more and if I could tell you to do one thing for your wedding it would be to book Alex from Thimisy and have him capture the day so you can relive it over and over again. Alex is a dream to work with, he makes you feel so comfortable but KNOWS how to get those shots, by the end of it I felt like we had known him forever.
Video: PLEASE DO THIS! If you want anyone videoing your day it’s this man and his team. I must have watched my video a million times and it never gets old, the voice over, the play out, the MUSIC, all mastered together by him and the team. It gives me goosebumps every time.”

“I’m somebody who loves to be organised and in control, but our wedding planner made me feel so at ease that I happily handed over the reins! And I’m so glad I did! Her calm, kind and professional nature gave me the confidence to truly relax and enjoy being a Bride, knowing she had absolutely everything under control. She bought our dream wedding to life with such care, love and attention to detail. Nothing was ever too much trouble! She was always just a message away, even when we were still in the UK, and in the lead up to our big day – she was our absolute lifeline when we needed it! On the day itself, she was everything we needed, and more. Supportive, present, friendly and calm!”

Our Tips for a Seamless Wedding Experience
Here are some easy tips to help you get started and avoid common headaches when planning your wedding in Cyprus:
1.Plan For the Weather
While Cyprus has many months of sunshine, in summer the midday heat can be intense — aim for later afternoon or early evening ceremonies. Autumn or spring often offer excellent comfort and light.
2. Hire Local Professionals
A Cyprus-based wedding planner or day-of coordinator will know the venues, local vendors and legal procedures — this can save significant stress and cost.
3. Book Early
Book early for popular venues, especially resort hotels and beachfront venues as they fill up fast in high season.
4. Visit if Possible & Backup Plan for Weather
Familiarise yourself with the location, logistics, and nearby accommodations. Even in Cyprus, outdoor weddings can benefit from an indoor contingency in case of unexpected weather or wind.
5. Budget Smart
Choose off-peak dates (spring or autumn), or mid-week weddings to reduce cost. Inland venues may offer better value than high-tourist-zone resorts.
6. Understand the Legal Process
Start gathering required paperwork early (birth certificates, single status, previous marriage documents) and check whether apostilles or certified translations are required for your country.
7. Keep the Legal Ceremony Timeline In Mind
If you’re opting for the standard notice period, allow at least two weeks in Cyprus before the wedding; for the express route (special licence) budget more for fees.
8. Consider Your Guests
Provide a travel & accommodation guide for guests, help with transport from the airport (e.g., Larnaca or Paphos airports) and pick a central location where possible.
9. Make It More Than One Day
Destination weddings become mini-holidays. Plan a welcome dinner, post-wedding brunch or excursion so the experience extends beyond the ceremony itself.

“We cannot thank Beth enough for the incredible job she did as our elopement wedding planner. From the very start, she was attentive, detail-oriented, and genuinely cared about making our day perfect. When an unexpected paperwork issue arose, Beth & her lovely daughter went above and beyond by personally driving us across Cyprus to the embassy to get the necessary document—saving our entire day and ensuring everything went smoothly. Her professionalism and calm demeanor under pressure made us feel completely at ease, and she handled every challenge with grace.
